ANNUAL LAS VEGAS SCHOLARSHIP GOLF CLASSIC

Supporting the EDPA Foundation

The EDPA Las Vegas community is lucky to have a loyal following of supporters as we celebrate our 16th year of the Foundation Scholarship Golf Classic. We hit a new revenue record this year exceeding the $20K mark with 125 total attendees including 84 golfers and 8 golf clinic participants. This year was a bit somber as we lost “Big Steve” Barry who kick-started the first golf tournament back in 2002 with his own money. Our 2018 event was dedicated to him and his generosity that continues on in this amazing program.

The 2018 Las Vegas based scholarship recipient Madison Upton, and her father from Elevation3D, were able to join us for the luncheon and presented with a big check and University of Nevada Reno themed gift basket from the board.

TIM PROVO BLOOD DRIVE

Helping one drop at a time

The 2017 blood drive was hosted by Chapter Member Las Vegas Expo. We had over 20 appointments with donations of whole blood that were estimated to help save the lives of at least 65 individuals. Since 2008, our Chapter has supported this blood drive making it one of our most successful meetings each year. Las Vegas Expo provided their Taco Lady, Steelhead provided drinks and the Chapter provided additional snacks. Susan Medica once again amazed us with raffle prizes that helped us to raise additional funds to assist our efforts with the Whitney Elementary School Pantry.

ANNUAL
WHITNEY ELEMENTARY FOOD DRIVE

No child should go hungry

The teachers and staff at Whitney Elementary were concerned when they noticed that on Fridays their students were taking the ketchup packets from the cafeteria home in their backpacks. When asked why, the students told them there was not enough food at home so they would make "ketchup soup" to help stave off the hunger pains until they arrived at back at school on Mondays. Heartbreaking to say the least!

The teachers and staff at Whitney Elementary, lead by their wonderful Principal Sherrie Gahn, started a Food Pantry to help ensure their students would not go hungry outside of the school day.

The Food Pantry provides
250 "food bags" each week to students and their families

These food bags are vital for these families in making ends meet. Through the Food Pantry, the school also provides basic clothing to their students.
